LTC Pacing for people with a Long Term Condition

In this video, we’re going to talk about pacing, a technique which can help you consistently carry out activities without causing a flare-up of physical health symptoms. If you haven’t already done so, we would recommend you watch our video about the boom and bust cycle before continuing any further with this module about pacing.

Pacing is the technique of only doing an activity for the length of time that our bodies are comfortable with. That means trying to get a balance between overdoing it or under-doing it, so not booming or busting and therefore spending less time recovering. Over time, using pacing can gradually increase our ability to carry out activities.
